'Disciple' is Mark's first solo project. On this CD he fully immerses himself into the
traditional Indian Raga styles. The music on the album reflects his 23 years of being
a disciple, an initiated seeker.
All these years ago he received the spiritual name 'Amaresh', a challenge and promise
at the same time. The meaning of 'Amaresh' is 'god of immortality'. To him, this name
always meant that his life after initiation should be dedicated to the search for wisdom,
and the divine immortal core of the human soul.
In that sense, 'Disciple' tells the story of this search, the ever growing experience
as a disciple that we can easily get lost in the games of this world if we don't remind
ourselves of our divine purpose and essence.
The tracks on this CD are deeply devotional featuring several guest artists from India,
the US, and the UK. Recorded in three countries, India, Germany, and the US, 'Disciple'
mirrors Mark's long lasting connection to these lands.
With its spiritual energy and long tracks, 'Disciple' is best suited for deep meditation
and any kind of devotional practice.
Mark considers his solo album an expression of gratitude to all spirit beings, and to
all the people who have been important in his life.
